Yellow and Orange Weather Alerts for Gran Canaria

We have yet another weather warning, there seem to be alot this month but, it's important to know about them.  Flights were cancelled and delayed earlier on this evening in La Palma and La Gomera due to the strong winds.

The Canary Islands in general have been on and off yellow alert for the past week for storms and torrential rain. AEMET have put yellow and orange alerts in place for strong winds in all of the islands.

The yellow alert is for Monday 21st December 2009, and will affect the mountains "cumbres" of the island with wind gusts up to 75 km/h. Then on Tuesday 22nd December 2009 we are on orange alert which is more severe and will see gusts of wind up to 95 km/h and is said to affect the whole island. This is very likely to be accompanied by rain for the next 3 days or so.
