Storm Warning for Canaries - 01/03/13

AEMET released a storm warning for the Canary Islands with hurricane winds more than 100 km/h and heavy rain.

The rain is set to arrive in Gran Canaria on Saturday 2nd March with Sunday 3rd bringing the yellow warning of wind and rain, orange for the peak areas.

This afternoon in Arguineguin it was beautiful but very wavy on Playa la Lajilla. There were plenty of people enjoying refreshments at local Sol y Sombra restaurant although only 3 people having a splash in the water.

In a matter of half an hour, the sky changed from this....

to this stormy scene!

    1. Thank you for your comment Willie, stay safe on La Gomera, here in South of Gran Canaria I am just starting to see a change in the temperature here, plus the wind is now getting a bit stronger. The calm before the storm it seems. I will check out your blog as you will probably see the storm before us here in Gran Canaria.
